About the Role
As an Income Auditor, your primary role will be to ensure that all hotel revenues are accurately recorded, properly verified, and aligned with the company's financial systems. This position is essential in maintaining the integrity of daily revenue streams, from room bookings and restaurant sales to spa services and rentals. You’ll be tasked with analysing, checking, and reconciling various income sources and supporting the finance team with end-of-month procedures and general ledger maintenance.Candidates who have prior experience in the hospitality industry will find this role familiar and fulfilling. It’s best suited for someone who is analytical, focused, and comfortable handling financial data in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Below are the main duties expected of the selected candidate:- Daily Auditing Tasks
- Start the day by reviewing communication logs and emails to track reported financial activity and updates.
- Analyze and validate reports for hotel income across departments.
- Verify accuracy of bookings, cancellations, discounts, and room charges.
- Ensure restaurant bills, promotions, and daily sales are accurately recorded.
- Telephone services
- Laundry services
- Spa/Recreation services
- Business Centre
- Rentals and miscellaneous hotel income
- Review and confirm any issued rebates, discounts, complimentary services, refunds, or paid outs.
- Cross-check and update the General Cashier reports daily to ensure cash flow accuracy.
- Update General Ledger and Income Journal Vouchers to reflect daily financial activity.
- Keep accurate records of occupancy rates, room availability, guest counts, and covers served.
- Validate expense reports, tips distribution, entertainment charges, duty meals, and room commissions.
- Conduct occasional audits on operational outlets to ensure adherence to cash handling and reporting procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare closing statements, reconcile final reports, and support audits.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in auditing or financial reporting
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is a strong plus
- Familiarity with financial management systems and accounting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and database knowledge is essential
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
